Windsor Illuminated Preview Night 2023

Hey look, we don’t just cover theme parks, keep an eye on XplorerCentral as we want to cover loads of events and fun days out too!

So, Our first Press/Preview event as the New Xplorer Central, and what a perfect one for the Winter Season. Windsor Illuminated is located within the Great Park, starting and ending at Saville Gardens. Essentially Windsor Illuminated is a night time walk, with loads of lights, fountains and music to create a 90 minute beautiful experience through the Windsor Great Park (which is normally closed at night!).

We Parked up (parking is free for event ticket holders) and went to collect our wristbands. These wristbands gave us an unlimited bar at the entrance bar (which when I spoke to the owner of the event said it was the Jager bar which has been at winter wonderland in London) and also meal vouchers, thank you so much for inviting us!

I had a few pints and my family were on the mulled wine, delicious, after an hour or so of mingling we headed into the event itself. My gosh is Windsor Illuminated beautiful. From the moment you enter you have music, photo opportunities and of course lots and lots of lights!

There are 2 “stopping points” for breaks if you like to call them. One has a light “disco” with fairies flying around, and of course another bar. Then slightly further around the food vans. We chose to get loaded fries for our dinner and wow were they nice, between them and the bratwursts I would fully recommend the food for this event. I grabbed myself another beer for the rest of the walk. They even use the lake as part of the event with fountain shows and a water screen projecting animals to the sound of music. Having done the event before I will say the route length has been increased and loads more lights have been added! Essentially the route is all around the “obelisk pond” if you know the area.

I Really enjoy Windsor illuminated and will definitely be visiting again this year. The event runs from November through till the beginning of January, just remember it will get busier as you get closer to Christmas itself or on Saturdays (but that’s normal for any Christmas event)

Thank you again for the invite Windsor Illuminated and hopefully see you this year!
